Help for Audra Hearring and Family

Donation protected
This gofundme is for a very dear friend of my daughter, Anna and her family.  Her mother (Audra) is a single mother of 4 and could really use some help with money to help pay for rent, utilities, clothing and a used car.  Here is a message from Audra that she sent to some people in the apartment complex who've been helping her:

My name is Audra. I would like to take a minute to share the full extend of how hard the last year has been for our family, and why your help since we moved into the community has staved off disaster that I feel we seem to constantly totter on the brink of an edge of.

Last year in July I broke my ankle simply walking across a street and was out of work for 15 weeks while I healed. I worked three jobs as a server and found myself unemployed when I couldn't work while I healed. Understandable. When I finally recovered in September and just started working for Amazon, my special needs daughter was rushed to the ICU with a ruptured esophagus. My daughter was born without an esophagus, a rare comdition known as Trachial Esophageal Fistula. She has been in the hospital most of her life and as she's gotten older her condition has changed.  She now has Eosinophilic  Esophagitis (EOE). RADS (Respiratory Airway Dysfunction Syndrome). GERD (Acid Reflux) but due to the EOE and GERD she is now high risk for ruptures (in the last year she's had two) as well as  esophageal cancer. Anyhow, the rupture kept her hospitalized until almost the beginning of December last year.

The day before Thanksgiving last year my son was also beaten within an inch of his life outside our apartment for his cell phone and wallet. It was so violent, he had a bruise that was the pattern of the bottom of the shoe that stomped on his forehead and it extended into his hairline. There was so much blood....

Things started to look up in January and I got a job in Lacey at a call center. We lived in University Place at the time so it was a bit of a commute but I didn't mind as it gave me some "me" time.  Then in April my call center sent us home to work and the kids were sent home from school due to covid, which we thought was going to be temporary.  Then school was closed indefinitely, and that was a blow to the kids as they didn't get to say goodbye to friends, but at least we lived near some of them.

Then we got hit with a notice that we weren't going to be allowed to renew our lease and needed to move. The attorney general stepped in at this point and sued the apartment complex ,as this was illegal at the height of the pandemic and there were 200+ other residents who were being forced out as well, all so that they could increase their rental prices.  As stressful as it was at the time, we did find a good apartment community in Edgewood.  But it was another blow to the kids as now they were moving away from the few friends they had after schools had shut down.

Then in May, two weeks before we moved to Edgewood, my oldest daughter and the one with special needs, once again found herself in the ICU. For the same issue as last year, but with more complications and severity.  Shortly after that, I was in a car accident/hit and run, at a red light on my way home from a doctors appointment.  Not to mention that the doctor's appointment was one where we discussed my potential of having breast cancer as I have a lump in my armpit, but mammograms weren't being scheduled at this time as it was the height of the pandemic and not considered essential.  My lump has since disappeared (has been for awhile now) so I still can't get tested like I need to.

Luckily, my kids have medical both thru the state and my special needs kid thru SSI as well.  That is good because recently, my special needs kid had her NGtube removed and had a major operation to put in a Gtube, and next year she will undergo an even bigger operation to have her esophagus replaced with either her small bowel or large intestine. She will spend weeks to months in a medically induced coma after the operation while her body heals.

My other daughter Ila recently had a kidney infection that she lost a battle with after two separate rounds with antibiotics and turned septic. Ever had a code called on your kiddo in the hospital? Their little heart tachycardic? Its absolutely terrifying.

She has also officially outgrown all her clothes but since Walmart wont let her try on pants to make sure they fit before we purchase and we can't return things when they don't fit (due to covid) it makes getting her new clothes really hard. You see, Ila is super thin, so she doesn't fit clothes most kids her age do. Physically she looks like an 8-10yr old. Not the almost 15yr old she is. Not that it matters anyhow because honestly, I'm broke, I cannot afford to clothes shop. I've tried to babysit other kids in my home to help bring in a income but that right now isn't happening as other parents aren't able to work.
