Hi, my name is Jessica Woodall. I am making this GoFundMe for my mother, Anne Woodall.

My mom has served our community for eight years as the director of the CDC in Brunssum. Working with children and their families has been my mom’s passion for my whole life.

My mother is the kindest, most giving woman I know. She would give her last dime if she knew it would help someone else, but she is also proud and stubborn and would never ask for help from anyone else (and this is why I am making this story on her behalf.). Over a year ago, my mom started swelling with fluid in her extremities. She also started dropping weight without trying. She has seen doctors in the Netherlands and Germany. My mom spent five weeks in a Dutch hospital this summer, only to be sent home with no diagnosis. She was driven to a German hospital the next day, and before they would admit her, we had to pay €5,000 upfront. She spent two weeks there with a feeding tube in her neck. While there, a nurse accidentally punctured her leg with a wheelchair. She was sent home after two weeks and was only home for one week when we had to call the ambulance again because the portion that was punctured became infected. The doctors have discovered that she has several pulmonary embolisms on both lungs and infections in her bladder, blood, leg and stool. In addition, her blood pressure is so low that she is incoherent most of the time. She is immobile because she has lost more than half her muscle strength. She is still swollen, yet she is also leaking fluid from her skin at all times. I’m trying to move her to Landstuhl medical center as soon as possible.

The medical bills have drained us, and she has run out of leave from work. I will be forced to pack up our belongings, give up my two cats and dog and move out of our house by November. This is because we can’t afford to cover the expenses anymore since she won’t have an income, and I don’t make enough money at my job.

My mom has spent her career helping others, and I would love to help her now.
