Help for Ann Louise and Randy Cormier
Donation protected

Hi friends, my name is Joe and I am Randy Cormier's little brother. With the family's approval, we're setting up this Go Fund Me to financially help with monthly expenses for Randy and Ann Louise. Unfortunately, a couple of months ago, Ann Louise (only 53 years old) was diagnosed with cancer and after many tests and scans was officially diagnosed with Dedifferentiated Chondrosarcoma which is a very rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. As this cancer is non-responsive to chemotherapy, on June 9th she underwent an 8hr surgery to remove her femur and knee. This surgery was not curative for cancer and she will have ongoing cancer treatments and monitoring.
She is under the care of Dr. Tsoi at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto. Mt. Sinai is one of the top hospitals in the world for bone cancer so she is receiving the best care possible. Unfortunately, this does and will continue to cause for quite some time multiple trips back and forth to the hospital for the family which at today's gas prices can get very costly.
As you may know, Randy has SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) - a form of MD and has been confined to a wheelchair for many years now. Randy has been unable to work for 15 years because of his condition. Ann Louise is the breadwinner for this family and is Randy's primary caregiver. Given this situation they find themselves in, their daughter Alexandra has had to go on a caregiver leave to assist with her care. Their other daughter Lauren has been away from her home in New Brunswick for 10 weeks and as a Ph.D. student does not qualify for EI. As you can imagine having one family member with a disability has already caused financial strain for this family and now they are faced with Ann Louise's battle with this horrible disease.
Ann Louise has a long road ahead of her and it is uncertain at this point if she will be able to return to her profession as a Dental Hygenist. She is a fiercely kind woman who has done everything she possibly could for her family. She regularly volunteered at Ray of Hope in Kitchener until the pain from her leg got to be too much for her. She has been a beacon of light and encouragement to many who know her in their trying times and now she needs help from others. Please consider donating whatever you can to help Ann Louise, Randy and the family with their monthly expenses and bills during this time when very little income is coming in for this family. Thanks for your help. It is greatly appreciated.
