Help for Anitra battling Covid-19

Donation protected
I am raising money to help my oldest daughter Anitra Hines, a nurse & aspiring actress, that is battling Covid-19 for the second time in 2 months. Anitra is currently in the ICU on a ventilator battling for her life. The goal is to make sure that when Anitra is able, she has a home to go home to and to help with her medical and rehabilitation cost.

Anitra has always been a very compassionate person that was willing to help anyone in need. Perfect strangers would start conversations with her in lines at stores whenever we would go out. By the time the conversation was over that person, no longer a stranger, would profusely thank her for listening and caring. Many times I would ask her later, who was that? She would say, “I don’t know mom, they just needed someone to listen & talk to”. Anitra just has that type of presence that has people wanting to share their stories with her. My daughter Anitra is beautiful soul. Below is a little about Anitra’s Covid-19 battle.

Anitra was tested at her nursing job for Covid-19 on April 6, 2020. When she received the positive results on April 9, 2020, she started quarantining at home and was able to recover from the secondary bronchitis and sinus infections with prescriptions and over the counter medications.

Anitra was tested for Covid-19 again during the last part of April 2020. Those results came back negative. She returned to work on May 5, 2020. She was still experiencing some lingering chest congestion and tightness. Her doctor put her back on more medication.

On May 19, 2020 Anitra went to the emergency room with severe Covid-19 symptoms again. She received the results on May, 21 that she was again positive for Covid-19.

Anitra was rushed by ambulance to the emergency room on May 22, 2020 and placed in the Covid Unit after being in the emergency room for several hours. Her O2 stat was 64. She had trouble walking and talking.

On May 23, 2020, Anitra was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). She apologized for causing us to worry. Anitra was placed on a ventilator and a feeding tube shortly after arriving in the ICU.

Anitra had not developed antibodies after having Covid-19 in April 2020. The doctor informed me not everyone develops antibodies in 2 - 3 weeks after being exposed. Some people can be reinfected like Anitra was.

The doctor stated that only about 3% of the population are developing antibodies after developing Covid-19. She also let me know that the Covid-19 test in some instances have a 50% false negative rate.

As of May 25, 2020 Anitra has to be placed in a prone position each day for at least 16 hours to help her lungs.

Anitra has been mostly stable for the last 2 days. The ICU staff has informed us that there will be highs and lows when I call to check up on her. Her hospital and her home are about 600 miles away from us.

We are asking for funds to help pay Anitra’s bills until she recovers from Covid-19. We are also asking for prayers.
