On September 14, 2018, Angus suffered an aortic dissection and four subsequent strokes. After live-saving surgery that night, he spent a week in the surgical ICU and then five weeks in acute rehabilitation. He has ongoing significant limitations including ongoing blurry vision, slurred speech, and difficulty using the left side.
Angus is a loving father of 2, and devoted member of the community in Las Vegas. He has spent his life teaching and helping others, doing work including running a non-profit for foster children, teaching tai chi to at risk youth in Oakland, pro bono PTSD counseling, teaching martial arts, and doing personal training.
Currently, Angus is living with his son and daughter-in-law, completely supported by his 2 children. He is still completely disabled, and it is unclear if he will ever be able to return to the work he has done in the past. On behalf of Angus, we are asking for any support we can. We have mounting medical bills to pay, and will support Angus as long as he needs. All donations will be used to support Angus and his family, pay medical bills, and help him transition into the next phase of his life. Thank you for all of the ongoing encouragement and support as we navigate this tragedy.
