Help for Angie: Facing Cancer and Financial Crisis

Donation protected
Hello. My name is Lynae Pledger, and I am trying to raise money to help my close friend, Angie Kinard, pay her bills while going through a very difficult time.

Here is a little bit of her story for the past 7 months: On March 22nd, Angie was diagnosed with colorectal cancer during her first screening colonoscopy and informed she has a malignant tumor the size of a baseball. Over the next 4 months, she endured 8 cycles of chemotherapy followed by 2 months of daily radiation with chemo pills, in hopes of shrinking the tumor for surgery. As sick as the treatments made her, Angie continued to work throughout the entire process because she wasn’t able to afford otherwise.

After finally completing the chemo and radiation, only a few days before her scheduled surgery to remove the tumor, she was rushed to the hospital for a large bowel obstruction caused by the cancer. Angie underwent emergency surgery and is now unable to work for the next 2-4 months because she must heal from this surgery before the cancerous tumor can be removed. At this point, she has long exhausted any earned time at work, leaving Angie with zero income and in jeopardy of losing her health insurance. She is close to losing her car, now behind 3 payments, and can’t afford to pay her utilities or even buy groceries. She will be out of work 2-4 months and not only has cancer, but is worried to death about heading towards financial disaster. She was forced to move in with her mother because she can’t afford to fix the plumbing and can’t afford heat for her home. She doesn’t want to burden her mother, who is helping all that she can while recovering from carotid surgery herself and caring for her husband, Angie’s stepfather, who is bed-bound and on hospice.

When it rains, it pours, and Angie is hurting in so many ways, and trying to just survive. I would love to help Angie pay her bills for a few months, so she can concentrate on beating her colon cancer with some peace of mind, but I need help. Any amount, large or small, will help Angie so much and allow her to focus on fighting colon cancer. I thank you so much for caring.
