Help for Andy’s recovery expenses

Friends and family,
Andy endured two weeks of being extremely ill with a chronic cough and a severe fever. His doctor’s medication tactics weren’t holding up to what he needed. Andy became extremely weak and was hospitalized for the past week while being treated for Pneumonia. I am so thankful he started to recover after many doses of medication, antibiotics and further research.
Andy was discharged yesterday with the hope of being able to rest at home and recover. This approach fell short when his fever immediately spiked to 104.5 degrees during the night,
which we were able to mend throughout that evening with medication. His fever broke completely and he felt pretty well prior to me leaving for work.
Two hours after leaving, his left lung collapsed and he had to be immediately taken back to the hospital to have a catheter tube injected into his lung for immediate oxygen. It’s not what we hoped for, but he is getting the help he needs.
This recovery is expected to be longer than we all prayed for, but Andy getting back his health is most important. One day at a time..

An update as of 6/13/24:
Andy has been diagnosed with Legionnaires Disease, which is a rare form of Pneumonia and is treatable, thankfully! He has been able to come home to recover with a specific medicinal regime to follow while on work leave. It feels great to have him home! His recovery will be slow but hopefully steady.
