On June 24, Saturday around 12:30 am, Andrey was struck by a car while trying to cross the road near Lakeshore and Lower Jarvis. Andrey suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to the nearest hospital. Andrey passed away on June 28th Wednesday afternoon at the hospital with his parents and friends by his side. Andrey Volkov was a bright, positive, energetic 24-year-old young man. He was one of a kind. A special person that made you feel special when you met him. He was a dear son who brought joy to his parent's lives. He made them laugh and made them proud. Andrey had the uncanny ability to dedicate his full undivided attention to anything he set out to do. Whether it was hobbies, work, or sports, you knew that Andrey would give it his all. And that approach was not different in the way he treated people. If he were to hold a conversation with you, you knew that you were getting his full attention. If you were lucky enough to call him a friend, you knew that he would love you and help you with whatever you needed. He was always there for his friends. Andrey was truly a special person. One of a kind. And that is not cliche. Everyone who met him can agree that meeting Andrey was a gift. The joy he brought to our lives, the laughs, was never-ending. We will miss him dearly and will carry on his legacy as the great human being that he was. In his 24 years of life, Andrey lived life and created experiences that were so full, so happy and so joyful that we can all say he kicked ass out of life and never looked back.
