Help for Andrea Cashman

Hello, friends & family that I know & those whom I do not,
As many of you know, our friend Andrea had an emergency liver transplant in January.
It was the 3rd liver because the other two were deemed unacceptable, putting her survival dangerously close to an expiration date of March 2022. Her condition came on so fast & suddenly critical before the holidays that people were not told she was seriously ill and on the verge of dying.

Someone in Indianapolis lost their life, their family generously & selflessly gave five people the chance to live past March, and Andrea was one.
Fortunately, the gift of that liver is working remarkably well! Her numbers are fantastic, her doctors are encouraged, and she continues to heal slowly but surely!
It was expected that Andrea could go back to work in three months, and as of today, it’s been moved back to eight months or possibly never. Andrea and Scott have gone from full-time incomes to one. While they wait for disability to kick in, it’s not been easy.
Andrea has developed side effects. While these do not threaten her life, they threaten her job. The worst is hand tremors brought on by the three anti-rejection medications she must be on for the rest of her life.

Although she has loved being a phlebotomist for the past six years, hand tremors scare the hell out of patients (I would be one of those people)! For some inexplicable reason, patients prefer to have their blood taken by someone who can keep her hands steady and do the job once! Fainting patients look bad to everyone, especially if you were the last one who touched them.
However, with the choice of having a life or having tremors for the rest of her life, there is no choice. We are gratified she is with us all.

The long-term costs are estimated to be around $1,000,000 over the next few years with continual care, monitoring, and specialized medications. Most of this is covered under their excellent insurance, but with Aidan & Dylan going to college, they unexpectedly find themselves stretched to the limit.
Having a liver transplant out of the blue was not on anyone's to-do list, and we were all surprised, including Scott & Andrea’s checkbook & savings accounts, which are now exhausted.
To help them over this hump, I’m asking if you would consider supporting in whatever amount you could. Whatever you could spare would be gratefully accepted, and sharing this Go Fund Me page would be appreciated.
Thank you for your consideration,
Ann Leslie
PS
Please be aware, the writing on her thank you notes are going to suck big time!
