Hi. We are the Brunswick and Ruiz families. We are fundraising to help our niece Ana Sofy, who is in the hospital, and our nephew David, her husband. Ana Sofy was taken to emergency care with advanced sepsis of the blood stemming from multiple kidney stones in both kidneys. As she was admitted her condition rapidly deteriorated overnight and she experienced a shutdown in all her internal organs as one by one began to fail, resulting in cardiac arrest. In an amazing miraculous event, doctors used an advanced blood filtering and dialysis machine to cleanse and oxygenate her bloodstream and restarted her heart to restore her pulse and oxygenation as they filtered toxins and bacteria from her blood. She has been in the ICU in critical condition for 3 weeks and will be there for at least 10 weeks, according to her doctors. She will also require physical therapy for many months.
