As most of you know, Amy Ballard, Beautiful Wife of Dan Ballard, wonderful mother of three beautiful kids, awesome sister, daughter, caring preschool teacher, competitive and passionate soccer mom, and faithful Auburn Tiger, suffered multiple massive strokes in March and April of this year. And, although her recovery is progressing in miraculous ways, we do know, after meeting with her medical and therapy teams, that Amy will require home care for an unknown amount of time after her discharge from the Shepherd Center. We don’t know for how long, but it is our expectation that it will be at least a year. This is not covered by insurance and it is our expectation it will cost around $40,000/year. Her case manager suggested we do a go fund me as a way for others to help the Ballard’s. In addition, there will likely be some uncovered medical expenses, such as equipment and any home adjustments.

We know so many of you have reached out and asked how you can help. It would be a blessing to relieve any financial burden from the Ballard family. We know they will have their hands full as Dan returns to work and the kids are busy with school, activities, and their lives. We are looking to raise at least $50,000 which would cover the first year of the cost of a caregiver and any unforeseen medical costs (as we all know this takes considerable time to know where the medical costs shake out). We do not know how long Amy may need a caregiver, but our prayers and hope are that it is only temporary, and that this gift relieves some of the financial stress associated with such a life changing event.
