Hi, my name is Christina Sievert. I am asking for help for my Mom and Dad, Andy and Lori Sievert, who just suffered a tremendous loss from Hurricane Ian. Their home was flooded with waist-deep water losing 90% of everything they owed with no insurance coverage. I am calling this the Amsterdam Andy campaign because some very thoughtful children in Amsterdam heard of my parent's tragedy and started a bake sale to raise an $850 donation. I thought this would be another way to help my parents rebuild and repair their home and their lives. They are on a fixed income; both vehicles and their house were flooded, and they lost everything, including their livelihood. They had to live in the flooded house for two weeks until someone donated a motor home for one month to allow them to avoid sleeping in the filth, but they are proud of their home and afraid to leave the property for fear of looters. The neighborhood is not that safe, and they are scared of losing what little they have left. I hope to get enough money to rebuild their home, repair the damage to the house and the yard, and try to get their lives somewhat normal again so they can enjoy what time they have left in the world.
