Alex/Aj and I are very grateful to have so much support and love from friends and family during this time. His cancer diagnosis took us by surprise, and it’s been a whirlwind of appointments and tests as well as a lot of complicated feelings to process. As a teacher nearing the end of the school year, I’m likely going to get some smaller paychecks due to docked pay trying to go to as many appointments as I can without missing too much school.
