For any of you who do not know Alec Marshall, he is an 18 year old young man who recently sustained a brain trauma from a reaction to an allergy med. He is left with what can best be described as "Brain on Fire". Alec is currently struggling to understand what a smile is, what it means to laugh, remember conversations or know what is happening around him. Alecs brain is not functioning like it used to. Every day is a struggle for him, Alec can not drive, work or even do his homework. He is left trying to understand what has happened to him.
Alec is going to need twice daily hyperbaric chamber treatments along with two weekly I.V. infusions, nebulizer treatments and so much more. The cost for all of this is overwhelming for his mother Lydia. Alec tragically lost his father when he was in middle school, his mother has been providing and caring for him and never asking for help. Alecs condition has required Lydia to take a leave of absence from her work to care for him. She is left wondering how she is going to get the funding to pay for the treatment Alec needs to get better.
Alec was graduating from Skyview High School with honors and Clark College with his Associates this June. His plans were to attend WSU Pullman in the fall. His college goals will be put on hold, God willing he will one day get to attend WSU. Alec has been a God send to my son and so many others. His positive influence and guidance in life has been the most impactful blessing. This brain injury has left so many of us asking why, yet we believe God has this and is going to heal our Alec, with the help of his Doctor. We are asking for financial help for Alec and his family in any amount you can provide. All the money will go towards Alecs road to recovery.
