United for Alberth: Our Fight Against Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted people,

My name is Yeni, and with a heavy heart, I want to share the story of my son Alberth, an 11-year-old boy full of life, dreams, and joy. He was born in Portuguesa, Venezuela, and from a very young age he has been the light of our home: curious, playful, passionate about baseball and riding his bike, and always asking questions about the world around him. His laughter has always been the spark that brightens even our hardest days.

On June 2nd, 2025, our lives changed forever. Alberth began with a small pain in his cheek that seemed harmless, but it quickly grew worse. After many medical tests, we received the devastating news: embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive type of cancer that affects muscles and soft tissues.

Since then, everything has become a race against time. Today Alberth is in the ICU, with a tracheostomy to help him breathe and a gastrostomy so he can be fed. Seeing my child connected to machines, unable to speak normally, has been the hardest thing I have ever faced as a parent. And yet, even in the middle of this storm, Alberth gives us strength with his courage and the determination reflected in his eyes.

The road ahead is long and difficult. Alberth urgently needs more tests, treatments, and specialized medical care. The costs are overwhelming for our family: hospital stays, medications, transportation, special nutrition… every day the expenses grow heavier.

That’s why today, with humility and hope, we ask for your help. Every donation, no matter how small, is a chance for Alberth to continue fighting and a relief for our family. We also ask you to share this campaign with others, because spreading the word is just as powerful as donating.

Unidos por Alberth: nuestra batalla contra el rabdomiosarcoma embrionario

Queridos amigos, familiares y personas solidarias:

Mi nombre es Yeni y con el corazón en la mano quiero contarles la historia de mi hijo Alberth, un niño de 11 años lleno de vida, sueños e ilusiones. Nació en Portuguesa, Venezuela, y desde pequeño ha sido la alegría de nuestra casa: curioso, risueño, amante del béisbol, de montar bicicleta y de hacer preguntas sobre todo lo que lo rodea. Siempre ha sido ese niño que, con una sonrisa, logra iluminar hasta los días más difíciles.

El 2 de junio de 2025 nuestra vida cambió por completo. Alberth comenzó con un dolor en el cachete que parecía algo sin importancia, pero poco a poco ese dolor se volvió insoportable. Después de muchos estudios, los médicos nos dieron una noticia devastadora: rabdomiosarcoma embrionario, un tipo de cáncer muy raro y agresivo que afecta a los músculos y tejidos blandos.

Desde ese momento, todo ha sido una carrera contra el tiempo. Hoy Alberth está en la UCI, con una traqueotomía que lo ayuda a respirar y una gastrostomía para poder alimentarse. Ver a mi hijo conectado a máquinas, sin poder hablar con normalidad, ha sido lo más duro que como madre me ha tocado vivir. Aún así, él nos da fuerzas con su mirada y con esa valentía que solo los niños tienen.

El camino que tenemos por delante no es fácil. Alberth necesita más estudios, tratamientos y cuidados médicos especializados. Los gastos se han vuelto imposibles de cubrir para nuestra familia: hospitalizaciones, medicamentos, traslados, alimentación especial… Todo suma, y cada día es más difícil sostenerlo.

Por eso, hoy con humildad y esperanza, pedimos su ayuda. Cada donación, por pequeña que parezca, significa un respiro para nuestra familia y una oportunidad para que Alberth siga luchando. También les pedimos que compartan esta campaña con sus amigos y contactos, porque difundir es tan valioso como donar.
