My name is Richard and I'm sick (I was initially diagnosed with Acute Transversal Myelitis that developed to Multiple Sclerosis as well.)

Both the TM and MS have to do inflammation and nerve damage in the spinal cord (TM) or brain and spinal cord (MS). Both these conditions cause pain, loss of function, and disability. There is no “cure” but quality of life and disease mitigation is possible.

It started when I wasn't able to move as usual but thought I was just rusty because of not moving a lot due to covid. I only went to the doctors when I couldn't feel my feet and almost couldn't stand given the severity of my back and neck pain. It was then i was diagnosed with both ATM and MS

I'm taking meds (Steroids, pain killers, etc.) but I can't do much about the neurological deficits. Physical therapy and rehabilitation is the only thing that help me improve function and have a bearable quality of life. I have a son that I wish to spend as much time with and these treatments are the only thing that help me do that. While I cant really do much music anymore I do game online which helps pass the time.

I was already on disability due to agoraphobia, but fortunately with medication and the help of a close friend, I have managed to go to Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy for the last 7 months.

I've started this go fund to help me pay for physio therapy and hydrotherapy. ANY amount that you can donate is much appreciated.
