Help for Actress BarbaraO

Please join us in raising funds to help with medical expenses for legendary actress, filmmaker and health educator BarbaraO of "Daughters of the Dust" (she played the pivotal role of Yellow Mary), "Bush Mama," "Diary of an African Nun" and other notable independent black films. BarbaraO, now in her 70s, was injured in a fall a few months ago. She is currently working with physical and occupational therapists to regain her mobility and make a full recovery. We are seeking to raise funds as soon as possible to help pay for her medical expenses, as well as for some alternative healing modalities to speed her recovery. BarbaraO also would use some of the funds—all of which will go directly to her—to make her home wheelchair-accessible while she works to regain her full health and mobility. Finally, any additional funds will be used to make sure she has updated technology to stay in touch with her friends and fans around the world and to complete film works in progress.
