Our dear friend, Innocent, tragically lost his beloved sister, Ablavi Adèle, to an asthma attack, just a few days ago in Togo.
Needless to say, he is beyond devastated and still in shock, but he now also finds himself having to face an unbearable amount of financial difficulty as he is organising the funeral for his younger sister. He is going to have to cover all the expenses for her funeral that is taking place on September 15th, as well as financially making sure that Ablavi's young son, Nolan, will be looked after. Nolan is now an orphan, and our friend Innocent will have to face a very stressful situation of having to provide for both him and his own young son.
We are all heartbroken and devastated for Innocent whom we all love dearly.
Ablavi was afraid that she wouldn't be able to pay for her medicine once she'd get to the clinic, and it was unfortunately too late once she finally made it there.
To die of an asthma attack that could have been stopped immediately and even prevented with the right medicine, in a country that is part of the Commonwealth, is something that infuriates us all here in our family.
Her funeral alone will result in significant costs for Innocent, so we are appealing to the generosity and solidarity of everyone beyond our tight family circle, to help us provide extra support to Innocent and his young nephew Nolan through this very difficult time, and everything that lies ahead of them over the next few months.
Any amount, even what you would pay for a coffee, would be of a huge help through these very difficult times.
We all thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, support and generosity.
