Urgent: 72-year-old Aziza needs a safe place now!
My name is Ibrahim Attallihi, I live in Amsterdam and my cousin Aziza desperately needs help:
Aziza is a 72-year-old woman living in Tetouan (Morocoo), in a house that is about to collapse due to the heavy rainfall of the past period. The house has no locks on the doors and she has been robbed several times.
She is all by herself, has no children and no husband, no financial resources, which often leads to being systematically excluded from society in Morocco. Her mental health and physical health is getting worse every day and she urgently needs a new place where she can live in safety and dignity.

This is Aziza at home, where she has to live in extremely inhumane conditions.
Her neighbour, a very good woman, made those pictures and sometimes checks in on her. She is my only contact person to call and to check on her weekly. She was nice enough to use her phone and help with the photos/videos needed to start this fundraiser.

THE HOUSE
The house has been without electricity and clean water for over 3 years. She hasn’t been able to shower in the house and has no access to working fridge. Aziza eats food that she can save for a couple days, for example shop- bought sandwiches and small items she can afford. Sometimes she receives money from family members abroad, but it isn't a sustainable way to live. The house is in constant darkness so she isn't able to see anything. The house is full of insects and stray animals constantly come in and out The house belongs to her deceased uncle, which means she isn’t the owner of the property.

THE GOAL
The money that will be raised will be used to find an apartment or a small studio where she can finally live safely. Her neighbour is helping with the search for an apartment and has been kind enough to be our contact person during this difficult time. She also gives her food once in a while and takes her to the doctors when needed. The raised funds will be used to find an apartment where she can live safely..
The fundraiser goal of €5000 would help cover her living costs and rent for the next two years.
In the meantime, I am trying to find ways to support her financially after the period of two years.
If we find 250 people who donate 10 € per person we could reach our goal.
72-years-old Aziza has had a tough life, without the support of a husband or children, or a support network someone in her situation desperately needs. It is particularly brutal surviving in a country that offers no support for the vulnerable and especially for older women that have no financial resources. At her age it is almost impossible to have your own source of income.
So I hope to help her get some dignity back, and at least offer her some security and have the basics worthy of a human being. With this fundraiser you can help to make this a reality for Aziza.

My name is Ibrahim Attallihi and I’m based in Amsterdam. I am a creative soul, who is self-employed and works in the creative industry.
I was in shock when I heard in which situation my cousin Aziza had to live in and needed to do something.
My mother and my siblings are helping with a little bit of what we have. Unfortunately we are not able to provide for her life or to fund her monthly and Covid makes it even harder.
The Moroccan government doesn’t have social benefits for vulnerable old people to provide them with shelter or food. That's why I started this fundraiser to try to raise money to create an opportunity for my cousin Aziza, to simply have a better life.
In the future I would like to start a non-profit organisation to help more vulnerable people who are being left behind in this world.

Mijn naam is Ibrahim Attallihi, ik woon in Amsterdam en mijn nicht Aziza heeft dringend hulp nodig:
Aziza is een 72-jarige vrouw die woont in Tetouan (Marokko), in een huis dat op instorten staat door de hevige regenval van de afgelopen periode. Het huis heeft geen sloten op de deuren en ze is meerdere keren overvallen.
Ze staat er alleen voor, heeft geen kinderen en geen man, geen financiële middelen, wat er vaak toe leidt dat ze stelselmatig wordt uitgesloten van de samenleving in Marokko. Haar mentale en fysieke gezondheid verslechtert elke dag en ze heeft dringend een nieuwe plek nodig waar ze in veiligheid en waardigheid kan leven.

Dit is Aziza thuis, waar ze in uiterst onmenselijke omstandigheden moet leven.
Haar buurvrouw, een hele goede vrouw, maakte die foto's en komt soms bij haar langs. Zij is mijn enige contactpersoon die ik kan bellen en wekelijks kan checken. Ze was aardig genoeg om haar telefoon te gebruiken en te helpen met de foto's/video's die nodig waren om deze inzamelingsactie te starten.

HET HUIS
Het huis zit al meer dan 3 jaar zonder elektriciteit en schoon water. Ze heeft niet kunnen douchen in huis en heeft geen toegang tot een werkende koelkast. Aziza eet voedsel dat ze een paar dagen kan sparen, bijvoorbeeld in de winkel gekochte broodjes en kleine dingen die ze zich kan veroorloven. Soms krijgt ze geld van familieleden in het buitenland, maar dat is geen duurzame manier van leven. Het huis is constant in duisternis, dus ze kan niets zien. Het huis zit vol met insecten en er komen constant loslopende dieren binnen en buiten. Het huis is van haar overleden oom, ze is dus niet de eigenaar van het pand.

HET DOEL
Het ingezamelde geld zal worden gebruikt om een appartement of een kleine studio te vinden waar ze eindelijk veilig kan wonen. Haar buurvrouw helpt met het zoeken naar een appartement en is zo vriendelijk geweest om onze contactpersoon te zijn in deze moeilijke tijd. Ze geeft haar ook af en toe eten en brengt haar naar de dokter als dat nodig is. Het ingezamelde geld wordt gebruikt om een appartement te vinden waar ze veilig kan wonen.
Het doel van de inzamelingsactie van €5000 zou haar kosten van levensonderhoud en huur voor de komende twee jaar helpen dekken.
Ondertussen probeer ik manieren te vinden om haar na de periode van twee jaar financieel te ondersteunen.
De 72-jarige Aziza heeft een zwaar leven gehad, zonder de steun van een man of kinderen, of een ondersteunend netwerk dat iemand in haar situatie hard nodig heeft. Het is bijzonder wreed om te overleven in een land dat geen steun biedt aan de kwetsbaren en vooral aan oudere vrouwen die geen financiële middelen hebben. Op haar leeftijd is het bijna onmogelijk om een eigen bron van inkomsten te hebben.
Dus ik hoop haar te helpen wat waardigheid terug te krijgen, en haar in ieder geval wat veiligheid te bieden en de basis te hebben die een mens waardig is. Met deze inzamelingsactie kun je helpen om dit voor Aziza waar te maken.
