Help for Sohjo!

Sohjo is a 12 years (young!) lady and she came into our charity signed ower by her previous owner to be later diagnosed with chronic kidney disease.

She’s having her regular check ups (bloods and urine) and she’s been doing very well up until few days ago.

Unfortunately she started having respiratory effort, developed open mouth breathing and ended up having emergency appointment at the vets. She quickly improved on some oxygen and xrays didn’t show any obvious changes. It is possible that this is to do with upper resp infection, her CKD flare up, but it also could be asthma or heart issue so these need to be ruled out. We need to do some more diagnostics which unfortunately will require a very expensive specialist referral

But there is no other way- we need to know what exactly is going on so we can choose the best treatment option for this little lady. She will probably require specialist consult, bloods and urine tests, doppler ultrasound and a heart scan to start with. If she deteriorates, she will also have to be taken to out of hours hospital prior to the referral appointment which can also cost a fortune :( We have already paid her £303.44 emergency bill but unfortunately this will be much much more than that. We are probably looking at around £2k-£2.5k to start with because this is a specialist level..

Please help us, she’s such a happy lady with a huge personality and deserves a 5* home. She just needs a little help before we can make that happen :(
