Help for a new bike after mine was stolen

Back in June I bought a lovely new bike for just shy of £500. It was something I spent months saving up for. I really wanted a new, reliable bike as a means of transportation for getting to and from work and picking my daughter up for childcare on time, as buses in Bristol are so unpredictable.

i had it locked up in the bike storage within the courtyard of my building in St Paul’s, Bristol. I am a new parent to a 6 month old and it can be overwhelming looking after her, especially when she’s been teething recently. Because of this, I forgot to insure the bike. I also didnt get round the getting a second lock, which I should have done, because I only locked up the front wheel due to the nature of the bike storage design. I naively thought that no one would go out of their way to steal the frame and just one tire.

I realised it was stolen on Sunday 18th august. I regularly checked it so it would’ve been stolen around Friday night or Saturday night at some point.

i am really devastated that this has happened. I have to purchase another bike, as public transport in Bristol is so unreliable, which is why I am making this.

i don’t expect anything from anyone, this is ultimately my own responsibility and I should’ve taken more care (believe me, I am so angry with myself). However, if you’re able to spare just a few quid to go towards a new bike and a secure bike lock, I would be so, so grateful.
