As I’m sure anyone reading is aware, Hurricane Dorian has devastated the Bahamas with many displaced and profoundly affected. This sadly includes 2 members of my family who live there.
This gofundme is to help a single mother (Patricia Gallimore) and her young son (Gary) who have been made homeless by the disaster. They were forced to leave their home as it became unsafe

but unfortunately the building they sought shelter in partially collapsed, leaving Patricia injured. Both are also suffering from sores after being forced to walk through neck-deep infected water to get to safety. Their home was unfortunately destroyed
and they are currently living in temporary relief accommodation.
In spite of what they’ve endured, they are desperately trying to rebuild their lives but are unable to do so as Patricia is currently prohibited from working due to an expired Bahamian work visa (which lapsed during the hurricane). By donating you will contribute to the cost of renewing this work visa, helping them both regain some normality by allowing Patricia to work again.
You will also be helping them to move from relief accommodation and into their own home, providing both with much more stability.
In addition, your kind donation will help to fund 12 year old Gary’s return to the normality and routine of school, with money towards school supplies, transport costs and other schooling necessities. Previously a high achieving student, Gary has been shaken by the loss of many of his school friends in the hurricane. Help him to return to school and start his healing process.
Thank you for reading this far and I implore you to give what you can.
