Help for a helper - Preston Alden

Hi my name is Mary Marshall and I’m reaching out to you all for help for one of our own fallen hero’s.

 

COVID-19 has taken so much from our lives, our loved ones, our social lives, and our community connections. In midst of the loss have been the nurses and doctors who have spent hours treating and often saying goodbye to patients that have tried so desperately to save. All of these losses have taken a toll.

 

Preston is an RN at Bon Secours Mercy Health Springfield Ohio. He has worked with many COVID-19 patients, holding their hands as they struggle to breathe, holding the phone as their family members have their final goodbyes, and, sadly being the last voice and the last face many patients have seen before they have succumbed to the ravages of COVID-19 on their bodies.

 

All of these goodbyes and the onslaught of patients through 12-hour  shifts has finally become too much for Preston. He has been diagnosed with PTSD and is taking the time to heal.
