Lister decided to tell her story to friends and the wider community in the hopes that those who are able may consider offering support, whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign:

"I'm reaching out during a very challenging chapter in my life. I live with a disability and use a scooter wheelchair. I am currently on long-term disability, which provides some support but does not fully cover the rising costs of daily living.

"At the same time, I am the primary caregiver for my dad, who is a senior. We support each other as best we can. Caring for him is something I do with love, but the responsibilities can be overwhelming.

"Recently, my dad became the victim of a financial scam involving cryptocurrency. Unfortunately, seniors are often targeted because scammers take advantage of their trust and unfamiliarity with rapidly changing technology. This incident has placed us in significant financial hardship, despite our best efforts to stay afloat. We have reached a point where we need help to regain stability.

"This GoFundMe has been created to help us cover essential living expenses, caregiver needs and the unexpected costs that have built up over time.
