Help for a single Mum, Amanda Floether
I am asking for help for my sister. The most caring young lady I know, passionate about helping people & too proud to ask for help.
An accident has resulted in her breaking her back (T2 & T3), ribs, severe edema of her Cervical spine and bruising in many places. She has undergone surgery to stabilise the breaks in her back to prevent spinal cord damage. She has had complications of blood loss which have resulted in a blood transfusion and some liver alarms & the list is ongoing. A long road to recovery.
She is a single Mum, not able to now work for an unknown amount of time. Doctors are saying recovery is going to be about 6 - 12 months; fingers are crossed for much sooner, but it will never be 100% normal function.
Already struggling with Fibromyalgia & previous lumber spine discectomy. Pain management is a struggle with severe nerve pain across the upper back, shoulders, neck and chest. Amanda is finding it hard to come to terms with the trauma of the event and facing her future reality with reduced mobility, permanent pain and numbness.
With limited sick leave and annual leave from work, the stress of money and how the bills are going to be paid is starting to take its toll on her recovery. The cost of medication not covered under the PBS and physiotherapy is enormous. I am concerned about her mental health.
Amanda is a very proud, generous giving young lady. She will give help and assistance to anyone in need, from the local lady whose home burnt down to needing help in funeral arrangements for a neighbour, and the list goes on, but she never asks for help when in need herself.
If you can please help us raise some funds to help pay her rent for a few weeks, medications or physiotherapy, it would be much appreciated. No amount is too big or small
