I'm helping a 75 year old woman who lives nearby and has a fairly serious problem.  She owns her home and is living on Social Security of $1000 a month.  Unfortunately, her house is falling apart and it is very unsafe.    There is currently no running water and hasn't been for awhile.  She shouldn't be living there. Frankly, if social services discovered it, I suspect they would pull her out.

Sadly, the house has a reverse mortgage and this elderly woman is now in a position where she can't leave, because she would be left with nothing.  

I plan to fix the problems with the house, enough to make it livable, and am donating my time.  I can't do it alone and I am going to need to hire labor to help me or get volunteers.  There's also a small amount of materials needed.  I believe I can do it all for about $3500.  

I'm am asking for your help.  If you have ever had an elderly person in your family who needed help and you were there for them, think about what that person would have done if you weren't there, and they had nobody else.

I'll be starting on this project next week.  Any donation you can provide would be more than appreciated.  If you live in San Diego and would like to help, volunteers will cut down on the money I need to raise.
