As many already know, our friend Parag and his family recently suffered a major loss. On August 2, there was an electrical fire at his home that spread, destroying everything. Thankfully, and most importantly, all of the people made it out safe. Heartbreakingly, other members of the family, pets, were lost.
Parag is one of the kindest, most genuine people I've ever known. Through all of this he has kept his positive outlook, which is evident in the comic picture he sent me when I requested a house photo. This is truly a case of bad things happening to good (amazing) people.
Although he would never ask for help himself, my hope is that we can rally around Parag and his family in their time of need, just as we would hope others would do for us if we were in their situation.
Gofundme takes a %, which is one reason I set a high goal of $2,000. Jon and I kicked it off with a direct contribution (as I know others have made, including giving necessities) which brought us to our current goal amount.
