Help for 5 month old Hayes Hogan and his open heart surgery!
Donation protected
Some of you may know Hayes Hogan's story, but most of you will not because his parents, Dillon and Brooke Hogan, are pretty private people. They are strong and independent and they are the last people that would ever ask for help from anyone, but in this situation they need it, so im asking for them.
When Brooke was 12 weeks pregnant with Hayes, the genetic testing showed a high chance of 22q deletion syndrome, also known as DiGeorge Syndrome. After that, Brooke followed with MFM the rest of her pregnancy, who caught a glimpse of a hole in his heart. A pediatric cardiologist then confirmed a diagnosis of Tetralogy of Fallot. TOF is a rare and critical congenital heart defect that involves 4 major defects in the anatomy and function of the heart.
Because of the TOF, Baby Hayes is getting ready to have his big open heart surgery in New Orleans on May 21st. It is expected that the Hogan family will be spending several weeks in the cardiac ICU at Ochsner Children's Hospital in NOLA. As a heart mom who has been through this multiple times, I can tell you first hand the enormous financial burden this places on the family. Not to mention the emotional pain of watching your infant suffer through a major operation like this.
We cannot change the emotional and mental weight that this places on Dillon and Brooken but we can ease their financial burden and WE SHOULD. The money raised here will go to offset the cost of travel, food, lodging for this trip, as well as for bills at home which do not stop coming no matter the situation.
If you have heard Hayes' story and have wanted to help, now is the time. This family needs us to rally behind them during this intense journey. Unfortunately, these conditions are lifelong and they have a long road ahead. But if we can get Hayes past this major heart surgery, the hope is that he will stabilize and not be so medically fragile like he is now.
Thank you all for reading and thank you in advance for your support. Please pray for the entire Hogan family as they continue on their journey.
