Help Fonz Heal: Overcoming a Hit-and-Run Tragedy

Friends and Compassionate Strangers,

I am reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart to share our friend and co-workers story in hopes of being able to help him and his family during this very challenging time. 

 

Last night Fonz was involved in a very bad hit and run motorcycle accident that wasn’t his fault.

What should have been a simple ride turned into a life-altering event. He now faces injuries that have left him in constant pain and struggling to regain independence.

He was hit by an uninsured 18 year old drunk driver at over 90mph from behind causing him to flip backwards onto the car and then onto the freeway pavement. The driver took off leaving him on the side of the road. Thankfully Fonz was riding with friends who immediately helped him and caught the entire event on camera. 

In an instant, everything for Fonz and his family changed.  His world turned upside down. 

The accident left him with a fractured spine in 3 places T12 L1 and L2, broken finger, severe road rash and potential other injuries we aren’t aware of yet. He is wheelchair bound for the foreseeable future and now facing extensive medical treatments, rehabilitation, and the uncertainty of his recovery. 

Every day will be a struggle, both physically and emotionally, while he deals with the pain and limitations that have come with this tragic event. 

Fonz has always prided himself on being independent and a provider, the reality is that he now needs some help.

Medical bills will be pilling up, along with day to day bills and needs and he is unable to work during this critical time.

Your support will not only assist with these expenses but will also give him the hope and strength to focus on healing and rebuilding his life.
