Imagine living in a country where most dogs and cats have no loving families, no food or water, no shelters and no laws to protect them. These poor animals suffer a great deal. They are starving, mistreated, abused daily and completely helpless. They are simply misunderstood by the people.
This is the reality of most pets in Haiti where Marylin E. Acloque lives and has been rescuing as many animals as she can .
After doing so for so many years on her own, she founded Fondation Alliance Verte and started building the first animal shelter in Haiti.
This new shelter will need to be gated and secure, have multiple cages, be stocked with food and medicine and will need an on-site employee and veterinarian.
The foundation’s mission is to rescue dogs and cats and get them adopted. Care for the strays and help owners who cannot afford to care for their pets. Conduct spay and neuter campaigns, raise awareness regarding animal abuse and educate people on how to love, respect and treat their pets and all animals.
