Help Flynard overturn his wrongful conviction!
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Flynard Miller (40) and I am doing this GoFundMe because I need to raise money for an attorney. I have been a victim of "Wrongful Conviction" for over 21 years. For the indigent, which I am, adequate counsel in Illinois is very expensive. Counsel costs thousands upon thousands of dollars. I have hired an attorney but will need $10,000 to cover his fees. This is the goal of this fundraising!
According to the "Prison Legal News" 58 percent of Illinois' murder convictions are the result of wrongful convictions due in large part to coercion by the Chicago police and the withholding of favorable evidence by the prosecutor in Illinois. Illinois is #1 in the nation for wrongful conviction. This "Public Body" which is the criminal "Just-Us-System" (criminal justice system) has been funneling inmates into their prison industrial complex using tactics of coercion and hiding favorable evidence from defendants for decades, in order to secure a murder conviction.
I have gone to sleep many nights crying because I am wrongfully convicted. The heartache and despair are unbearable most nights. Last year was extremely harsh. I lost my only brother "Boz's" to senseless gun violence 1/1/21 which was devastating and then in September 2021 I lost my loving father to cancer. Leaving my widowed mother alone and confused, having just lost her youngest son and husband months apart and her only
remaining son in prison for a murder he didn't commit. I've begged God for mercy, to send me back home to my dear mother, with heavy tears in my pupils, and trailing down my face.
Soon after, a sign came from above. I received evidence after 21 years incarcerated of my innocence. 2 of the 4 alleged witnesses on my case came forward presenting affidavits recanting their testimony and admitting to being coerced by the lead detectives (Chicago police) into testifying falsely against me. These detectives threatened them in order to secure a conviction. One was threatened with more jail time, and the other
with taking her child. A 3rd witness says he was present the day of the incident, he informed the detectives but was never called, his testimony would have exonerated me.
Now, I have the evidence to prove my innocence, but it is so hard to prove because of the pay-for-play politics in Illinois. Without a game changing attorney my newly discovered evidence will never see the light of day. It will get swept under the rug like the rest of the indigent defendants who can't afford adequate legal representation.
I was arrested on my 19th birthday, since my arrest I've earned my G.E.D (2009) and Associate of Theology from the International College Of Bible Theology (2019). I'm also set to graduate with an Associate of "General Studies" through the Northwestern Prison Education Program, from Oakton Community College (summer 2022) and I start my first year of scholarship for a Bachelor of science from the Northwestern School of Professional Studies in the fall of 2022. I also plan on doing social work and motivational speaking for at risk youth once I'm exonerated. These are things I should have been afforded as a free man.
WE MUST ACT NOW!!! We must stop the cycle of the criminal justice system and their practice of wrongful convictions. We do this by helping me raise the money for adequate counsel. Whatever you donate will help. $10, $100, $1000 and even larger if you have it. We must hire attorney Lyon or someone of her credentials to prove my innocence. To quote the late great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., "an injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere!”
