Help Flummox Get Back on the Road!

Donation protected
UPDATE:
Wow, in less than six hours we hit the goal. We are absolutely humbled, thank every single one of you for making things a bit easier for us after the immediate frustration and stress these past days have thrown at us. We met the challenge, and so did you. We’ll never forget that after the week we've had.

As mentioned in our statement that initial goal would get us caught up on the sudden losses and expenses we were met with these past days. We've decided we're going to leave the page up for a few more days through the conclusion of our shows this weekend for anyone that still wishes to donate. Obviously GoFundMe also takes a percentage, but we're not really worried about that after how today has gone.
As of this posting we're still limping home to Tennessee, where we'll immediately be retiring the Flummobile. Consider any further donations to be towards the van fund: a new Flummobile. We could use the help as we sort out our transportation going forward.
At the moment we're finishing an album we're more proud of than anything, and so anything helps to keep us on track and take some of the worry off our minds; especially after breaking down fourteen hours from home.

Once again: we'll still be making the final two dates in Indianapolis and St. Louis this weekend. Indy sold out a few days ago.
We hope to see you there; don't forget to drop just the tips in the van jar, and help us blow off some steam at a couple of our final shows this year. We will be giving it all at these gigs.
And once again, thank you.
This has all been very validating, and when you hear what we've got cooking, you'll know what's up.
Even we don't know just what we're in for...

HELP FLUMMOX GET BACK ON THE ROAD!

We are Flummox, your friendly neighborhood queer opossum pals. And it's been a week.

So first of all everyone is safe, but in the middle of the night several dates into our Fall Festivities tour, our van bit the dust. We got it to stop on the side of the highway, but it quickly became clear that after nearly two years of service, our touring vehicle had to be retired sooner than anticipated: if we could even use it to get back home to Tennessee.

We've spent a majority of this year recording and editing the new Flummox album for release in the first half of 2024; this tour was our last scheduled time out before the spring, and it's put us in a frustrating position to lose out on a number of performances in new places, on top of racking up expenses just to get back on the road at all (including issues towing with a trailer, a new fuel pump, battery, etc.) after months of preparation and stocking up to head back out. Renting another vehicle or trying to pick up where we left off somehow quickly became impossible, and so we had no choice but to funnel what resources we had into repairing the Flummobile enough simply to get us back home (and we got really far from home).

Regrettably we will be cancelling our dates in Oklahoma City, Kansas City, and Dubuque this week so that we can get back home and acquire another touring vehicle. With two breakdowns in two days, we didn’t want to risk the possibility of breaking down a third time even further from home. However, our weekend appearances in Indianapolis and St. Louis will go on as scheduled, if you want to come see us scream on the floor and maybe drop a tip in the van jar.
We loved our Flummobile, but like all good things even our home away from home couldn't last forever. Just the end of 2023 would've been nice.

The goal we set is simply the amount necessary to recoup significant costs to counter the immediate repairs, towing, and other losses incurred upon breaking down during this run; there was much debate reaching out like this to you at all but as we mentioned above, this was our last headlining excursion on the agenda for the next few months and ending it early with so much to pay off and relieving our transportation has been a lot to take in.
Anything helps going into 2024, as we're spending much of our own time polishing this incredible and bizarre new release, the first to feature this lineup: We've been playing much of it on the road this year, and it's getting some great reactions.

Luckily beyond everything we're all safe, and we have a support system and team that handles these situations smoothly as possible time and again; thanks are necessary to Josh at Tone Deaf Touring for getting us out there the right way, our heroes at Needlejuice Records, and to the wonderful souls that gave us places to stay the first nights of the ill-fated Flummox Fall Festivities 2023 tour. We also especially want to thank Alexis Hollada, Annette, & Brandon Johnson + his family for really helping us out the last couple days & giving us a place to crash & get our bearings while we figured this ordeal out.
We'll be back, and in greater numbers (but mostly a different van).

Thank you for reading our case, and stay safe out there.
We're excited to bring you some southern progress early next year. <3
