Michael Fletcher (aka fluffy) needs a liver!

As I type this out I am flooded with tears and memories. Bc let’s be honest, everyone has some story that involves my husband. He is the kind of guy that has always been there for others. Whether that was driving across country to pick up a vehicle or pull you out of the mud in the middle of the night. He was always the friend you could count on for anything and everything. He is the keeper of so many secrets and funny stories of soooo many friends. He is the guy that would give you the shirt off his back no questions asked, he just takes care of it. As a husband he is no different. I am so blessed to have him in my life everyday, he is not just my husband but my best friend and I can’t imagine doing life without him.

On New Years Eve we ended up in the ER and received some of the worst news imaginable. After weeks of testing and specialty appointments, it was confirmed Michael has what they call NASH Cirrhosis and that his liver is failing. He has now been listed on the Georgia registry for organ donation to hopefully receive a liver transplant. We pray that it doesn’t take long to get the call for this new gift but in the mean time he is unable to work. This experience has humbled us because we know we can not do this alone. It’s going to take a village and I honestly believe we have that with all of our friends and family we will get through this.

One thing we are asking for is prayer. Keep his name in the lords ear every day, every moment we can bc I know God hears us and will deliver us out of this.

We are also asking for donations if you’re able. He will be in the hospital 7-10 days post-op and he has to stay in Atlanta for 12 weeks after that if everything goes smoothly. We have to get an apartment for that time frame and will have family and friends rotating days/weekends to stay with him. He will have multiple appointments during the week and physical therapy visits. We are thankful that after he meets his deductible, his insurance will potentially pay 100% but we have other costs that will add up. Michael works for the Tift Co. road dept and is out on leave, so we are down to one income. Outside of just our regular household bills, we will have boarding fees for the kids while I’m gone, rent for the apartment, gas, food, and any costs the insurance doesn’t cover. Any donation would be an absolute blessing! We are thankful to have each and every one of you in our lives and thankful for any and every bit of help we can get.
