Meet Flower , the happiest little tripawd that’s in need of a prosthetic leg. This sweet pup was rescued from euthanasia at an overcrowded shelter in 2022. She and her brother were wandering the streets, fending for themselves when they were picked up as strays by the county animal control. With limited funds and resources, the best the shelter could offer was to put her on a code red list in hopes that a rescue would see her and pick her up. Thankfully for Flower, that’s exactly what happened.

She arrived at Adoption First Animal Rescue and was quickly sent for X-rays, which were reviewed by multiple vets. It was through those X-rays that they learned her leg had been severely injured, most likely from being hit by a car, and the only way to relieve her pain and give her a good quality of life would be amputation. On May 9th, 2022, her surgery was performed, and she began the long road to healing.

Fast forward to today, Flower has been adopted by her foster family and is thriving! However, at the young age of 3 years, she is already starting to show signs of excessive wear and tear on her joints. She wants to run and play but is finding it hard to keep up. Walks around the neighborhood are becoming increasingly difficult, and despite wanting to continue, her front leg gives out and within a half mile, she begins to stumble. Even on days that she skips going for a walk or uses her stroller, by dinner time, her hind leg begins to drag.

Flower doesn’t let any of this stop her from being the happiest girl, though. Her zest for life is contagious, and she has mentored over 30 other animals by being a foster fur-sibling while her family helped them prepare for adoption. Her family would love for her to be able to continue to run, play, and keep up with the other pups they foster, but they know the only way for that to be possible is with a prosthetic from 3D Pets.
