Hi, my name is Jojo, I'm a gay nonbinary trans man living in the state of Florida who needs your help.

I started my journey with HRT back in 2021 after a near-lifelong desire to transition and a battle with a chronic illness. I have never felt more free or comfortable in my body than I do these days. I am smiling more, laughing more, and I feel like the person I'm truly meant to be. However, due to the current political climate in Florida, things are very tense.

I live in an area of Florida that is very red-leaning, and I have encountered a few events of queerphobia at my place of work from customers and coworkers alike. While some management has backed me up, I still do not feel entirely safe. Access to my HRT had been cut off, as it has been for hundreds of others in the state in 2023. I worry about my ability to seek trans healthcare as long as I continue to live in Florida, especially due to the current election results.

If possible, I would like to take another step in my transition before things get any worse.

The current estimate is subject to change as I undergo consultations with surgeons.

My insurance will not cover the procedure or its associated costs. I am hoping that I can make at least half of what I will be billed so I can look into financing options. The estimate covers:

The grand total of all of this would be a conservative estimate of $16,200, ranging as expensive as $19,000. That is almost as much as I make in one year. Without help from others, there is no way I could save on my own to afford this, nor could I pay off any financing options available to me.

Any money that does not go toward the cost of my transition or care will be donated back into the Florida trans community. I would like to help my local trans community who are also struggling in these tumultuous times.
