My name is Florentina Barcelos. I'm asking for donations due to the fact that I have ovarian cancer and I've been dealing with treatment, the symptoms, and the financial problems that come with using up all your sick time and annual leave when it comes to appointments or when you're sick. The burden of bothering other people who you love and you hope that they understand why you're asking for help is tough. Sometimes it's hard for us to ask for help. We try to stay strong for ourselves emotionally, physically, and for our family members and people around us, but sometimes when we break down, it all just crumbles and it's hard.

It's hard without help from friends, family, or just people that we don't know but want to help. So, I'm looking for that help to support me financially, help my family, and myself while I'm in treatment, in pain, and sick. The stress of trying to go to work every day is hard when you're sick and you have symptoms happening throughout the day. You know you have to try to be there so that you can pay the rent, pay the bills, and buy food to feed your kids. I literally just broke down because my body can't take it anymore. It's not that I don't want to do it; it's my body, and I'm mad that my body can't do it anymore. But I'm staying strong and I'm trying to get through this.
