Florence is my mother, and she’s dedicated her life to teaching middle school students and caring for her family. She lives with my sister and her three kids, and together they’ve built a warm, loving home. Recently, a small electrical fire occurred in their house. Thankfully, the fire was put out quickly, but the smoke filled the house and left everything inside covered and unsafe to use.

Right now, Florence and the kids are staying with family and friends. They only have the clothes they were wearing when the fire happened, and with work and school starting again on Monday, they’re facing the challenge of not having what they need for their daily routines. They’re also unable to return home to retrieve or clean any of their belongings until it’s safe.

The funds raised will help them buy enough clothing to get through the week and purchase the special cleaning supplies needed to remove smoke from their clothes once they can access them again.
