Hello and thank you for considering helping my friend, Sydney, and her beautiful puppy, Flora, who is in need of a major surgery! Below is something Sydney wrote for you to know about Flora.

”Hi, I’m Flora’s mom, and I am writing this to share with you Flora’s health condition and medical needs.  Please know that writing this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

Flora has bilateral luxating patellas, meaning both of her knees are unstable and slip out of place. This condition causes her discomfort in her daily life, limits her mobility, and will continue to worsen without surgery. Unfortunately, it has finally progressed to a level that requires clinical intervention. The specialists have confirmed that surgical repair on both knees is the best way to give her a pain-free and mobile life.

The total cost — consultations, surgery, imaging, anesthesia, medications, and recovery — is just south of $10,000. I’ve already taken on debt to get the process started, and I’ve reached the point of where I can’t do it alone. I’m asking for help so I can give her the care she needs for the long and pain-free life she deserves.

This isn’t a decision I embraced lightly. I’ve explored every option, but delaying or avoiding surgery means watching her lose mobility and live in increasing pain. I cannot fathom doing that to her.

I met Flora on 12/18/2021 when she was just about 6 weeks old and I knew we were meant to be together. As my registered ESA she has been through everything with me. Those who meet her know Flora as a sweet, loving pup who brings joy to everyone she meets. With her wagging tail, persistent kisses and sassy personality she steals your heart right then and there. She doesn’t understand why walking hurts, she just keeps trying to live normally, despite the pain and discomfort. I want to give her everything I can, but most of all I want to give her the long and pain-free life she deserves.
