Hi everyone!

I’m Flora, a dance artist from Brazil, and I’ve been living in London for the past 3 years and 10 months. I’m doing this crowdfunding because my current visa - graduate route - is expiring soon and can’t be extended, so I’ll be applying for a new one - the Global Talent Visa. With this, I can continue living and working in the UK up to 5 years.

This process costs £5,941, excluding legal support. I’ve been saving for a few months through hospitality work and some dance freelance gigs. With that, I’ll be covering the solicitor’s fee (£1,600) and some costs to translate Brazilian documents and the endorsement, myself.

Now, I’m hoping to raise £5,500 to help cover the Visa costs. Here is a breakdown:

In London, I've been slowly building connections, creating collaborations, and doing it all in ways that feel healthy and sustainable. Being able to stay would mean continuing to grow my artistic practice, begin developing intercultural projects, and taking up opportunities that would allow me to keep doing my work and evolving as an artist in a place that feels like home.

A bit about me:

I moved to London in 2021 to do my MFA, graduated in 2023, and have been here since. I’m primarily a dance artist interested in community practices. I’ve been volunteering as a peer support worker for a mental health and wellbeing charity, where I apply aspects of my artistic research. Recently, I worked with the Latin American community at The Albany in Lewisham, and I hope to keep developing projects like these.
