Hello I’m Floderia Steele and I’m fighting a rare chronic neurological disorder in the multiple dystrophy family. I was born with Charcot Marie Tooth disease, commonly known as CMT. Its ongoing progression has drastically changed my life, dreams and goals. I was embarrassed and struggled all my life to hide it from the world. But now by the grace of my God I’m not ashamed and I’m trying to be strong and stay as well as I can. This peripheral neuropathy and degenerative condition causes numbness and weakness; damaging my nerves and causing pain mostly in my arms, hands, legs and feet. My older brother passed away with CMT. Thus far, due to CMT I’ve had bilateral knee replacements & five reconstructive surgeries on both ankles. Still my path to better health has been a constant never-ending struggle. I’m a fighter and I want to have a long life; however, I need to have an emergency surgery, therapy and other procedures right away. The anticipated cost is becoming overwhelming for my family. While enjoying being a proud mother and foster parent I became wheelchair bound as I provided foster care for over 35 therapeutic children. I had to stop due to the swift progression of my CMT disease. Although my Walking is limited to a few steps, my overall health is my most valuable possession and preserving it costs a fortune! Thank you in advance for any Prayers, Compassion, Contributions or Donations you give towards assisting my efforts to Walk and become well again!
Thank You & God Bless!!!
