What if You Had Nothing, But Still Chose to Lift Others Up?

At 18, Flo left an abusive home with no financial support and rebuilt her life entirely on her own. Today, she has earned admission to ASU's Thunderbird School of Global Management and is now one step away from enrolling.

As her mentor, I’ve seen firsthand extraordinary heart, combined with resilience, emotional intelligence, and leadership -- despite extreme adversity. Flo Huang was born in China during the one-child policy. She was abandoned at birth and later experienced years of abuse in her adoptive home. At 18, she left and supported herself entirely, eventually putting herself through university on her own.

Those experiences deeply shaped her vision and mission. Flo is committed to addressing the barriers that limit opportunity for marginalized groups who are overlooked.

Today, Flo works as an operations manager at one of China’s largest online education platforms. She has been recognized as a high-impact emerging leader, but she can do so much more.

What makes Flo exceptional is her resilience and ability to turn lived experience into leadership — and leadership into meaningful impact for others. With advanced education and global leadership training, she has the potential to massively scale opportunities for others.

Thunderbird's global program would give her the training, network, and institutional foundation to grow her impact into something far larger. What becomes possible with support is the development of a leader capable of shaping systems globally.

But there is one final barrier: funding. So far, she has secured scholarships, some private support, and will work on campus. As an international student, Flo does not have access to traditional student loans, making community support essential.

This is support for someone who will have a massive multiplier effect -- someone who has already turned hardship into leadership and is now positioned to build systems that create opportunity for others. If you can contribute, we thank you. No amount is too small, as any donation is a vote of confidence in her future. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign would truly make a difference.

Early contributions truly matter in building a successful campaign, so we thank you for your consideration.

With gratitude,
