Hello everyone!!

This fundraiser is to support the pilgrimage of 12 friends who have spent many years serving together in Flint, Michigan. The goal is to raise funds so that these friends can travel together to the Holy Land. Almost all of these friends first participated in the junior youth program. later continued through the institute courses, and is now thinking about the movement of the whole population. Over the years, they have served as junior youth animators, children’s class teachers, tutors, and other sources of support within their neighborhoods. Together, they visit families, share prayers, invite friends to activities, coordinate camps and summer of service, and encourage younger youth along their own path of service.

For almost everyone in the group, this would also be their first time traveling outside of the country. The purpose of this fundraiser is to make pilgrimage accessible to everyone who hopes to participate. Funds raised will help cover passports, plane tickets, housing, food, and other necessary travel expenses. Some of the youth previously had the opportunity to visit the home of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá in Montreal, which strengthened their desire to one day visit the Holy land together. This pilgrimage would give them an opportunity to pray together, learn more about the history of the Faith, and return to Flint spiritually strengthened to continue serving their friends, families, and community. Any funds remaining after the pilgrimage expenses are covered will be used to further support the neighborhood efforts in Flint.
