Help Fletcher's Lymphoma Recovery

Donation protected
On the day before Thanksgiving 2023, after two weeks of biopsies and a myriad of tests, Fletcher was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Thankfully he was able to start chemo just two days later, but needless to say the shock is fresh and the reality is still sinking in.

About the Bairds
Fletcher is a Wood Scientist who is looking to transition into the HR realm after a supporting role on Marcia’s latest national tour- a man of many talents. Marcia, Fletcher’s wife, is a freelance Wig Maker, IATSE member, and occasional Wig Supervisor for Touring Broadway Shows. They have two wonderful dogs, Breezy and Ripley, and just recently finished touring across the country together. They recently relocated to Winston-Salem, NC, closing on their house just two months ago, and definitely did not anticipate spending more time at the hospital than at home. Luckily, Fletcher picked out the house, which is 5 minutes from where his treatments are taking place. With this recent relocation, Fletcher was job hunting when his symptoms first appeared. Marcia was out of the state with the Pre-Broadway Tour of The Wiz, but came home immediately.
Needless to say, it's extremely tough to be going through chemotherapy and being unemployed.

What type of Lymphoma does Fletcher have?
Primary Mediastinal Diffuse Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (PMBCL) in Stage II. According to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society: It's characterized by the overgrowth of scar-like lymph tissue. A tumor generally forms behind the breastbone. The tumor is often very large and causes pressure on the blood vessels of the heart and lungs. Fletcher’s tumor was what first presented itself.
Patients with PMBCL often need a more intensive treatment, R-EPOCH. This chemotherapy is administered over a 5 day period at the hospital. It is a 3 week cycle that will be repeated 6 times. R-EPOCH is currently what Fletcher is being treated with.

How can you help?
Though health insurance is still in effect for now, we are asking for your help covering their basics. Marcia is currently balancing her time between remote wig work, caring for the house and dogs, and giving supportive care. They need help with the utilities and groceries as well as any of the remaining medical bills that will accumulate. 80% of the funds raised will go to medical bills and 20% will go towards living expenses. Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you kisses from Breezy and Ripley
