Hi, my name is Priya, and I’m raising funds for my cousin Fletcher, who is 11 years old and has a heart of gold. Around three years ago, Fletcher’s life changed when he was diagnosed with Leigh’s syndrome, a rare mitochondrial disease. He was a playful, active boy, but this progressive condition has taken his ability to walk long distances, causing frequent falls and limiting his arm strength. He now relies on a wheelchair that he can’t self-propel and therefore is needing constant support for daily activities.
Fletcher recently tested the Benoit power add-on for his wheelchair and drove it independently with ease. This device, costing £6518, will let him play outside with friends, join family outings, and move freely—giving him back the independence he deserves. We hope to raise enough funds to cover the cost of the Benoit (wheelchair add-on). If the target exceeds this, funds will go towards maintenance of the Benoit to ensure it remains fit for purpose and support special outings; like zoo trips or family adventures, to create cherished memories. Every penny counts.
As his condition worsens, the Benoit will be a lifeline for years to come. Thank you for taking the time to read, donate, or share. Fletcher’s gentle and caring spirit inspires us daily, and he deserves this and so much more!
