Help Flakita Get Better

Last week Flakita was attacked by a dog and taken to an animal hospital to get checked out. While there, she had x-rays done to see if anything was broken. Thankfully nothing was broken but they discovered a foreign item in her stomach. After another round of x-rays with our regular vet today we learned that it had not passed. We tried to remove it through inducing vomit but it didn’t work. Our only option now is to schedule an emergency endoscopy (camera used to go inside the mouth, down the esophagus and then into the stomach) to retrieve the foreign bodies. This is an expensive procedure and her previous vet bills from last week added up to 2k and today’s added an additional $500. I’m hopeful that this procedure will be able to remove the item but if they aren’t successful the next option is to perform a surgery to remove it.
This dog means the world to me and is my everything. I got her 2 years ago after I became sober and had been hospitalized for an attempt where I was very lucky to make it. I got her because I needed some responsibility and an animal that needed me and gave me unconditional love. And I found just that. She helps me so much with my mental illness and maintaining my sobriety. I truly don’t know what I would do without this dog. I hope to get her better as soon as possible with any help I can get.
