Help an unhoused frontline worker

NOTE - UPDATING THIS POST TO SAY - There was a misunderstanding on my part. This person is NOT a veteran, but was working to enroll in the Army Reserves. They are a front line worker who experienced identity theft and also PTSD from a traumatic event. 

Hey all, I am doing this to help someone I have no personal connection with. I only met them in the past few days when I saw their messages scrawled on their car windows. I have verified they need help. This person is living in their car and is a frontline worker with PTSD from a traumatic event. They are working part time, but can't afford to get their car fixed. I've talked to several people who work with homeless populations that have said they are better off in their car than the streets or in a tent because of air conditioning and mobility. They need a new transmission and the cost is $2,500. I've factored in the amount for the 5% that GoFundMe takes. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
