We’re raising money for Shea Akers’ medical bills and living expenses for the next few months.

We were on day one of a camping trip in the Adirondacks and she stepped on an uneven patch of ground and dislocated her ankle and broke her tibia, fibula, and other bones in her ankle with a total of four breaks. A very exciting rescue via canoe rangers and fire rescue folks in a fan boat but it’s going to be three months of recovery non-weight bearing plus PT afterward and upward of a year to full recovery. She’s currently without health insurance and won’t be able to work.

She may be partial cyborg after this surgery thanks to all the new hardware in her leg but she needs our help.
