Meet Rari… A Siberian Husky that might be missing some brain cells, but hey, it makes him that much more special.
Unfortunately, Rari has been struggling to go #2 and the cause of this has been found to be Two Perineal Hernias. A perineal hernia in dogs occurs when pelvic diaphragm muscles weaken, allowing abdominal or pelvic organs to bulge beside the anus, common in older, intact male dogs.
Let’s just say it’s not a pretty site for him or the inside of the house due to the issue causing very uncomfortable diarrhea.
After many vet visits and trying multiple changes with food and medicine, the last option seems to be surgery. Currently he has a consult with a surgeon on the 22nd of May to go over everything involved with this. The vet informed me that the cost of this is usually around $4000 per hernia (one on each side). I’ll get a more exact price after the consult. I was told I have 2 options left at this point. To get the surgery done or to consider the quality of life for Rari
Please do not feel obligated or guilted into donating! Anything and everything helps and I am already more than grateful for you even simply read this and share the link! I just gotta do what a dog dads gotta do to try and fix the issue!
Much love to everyone! And Thank you again!
