My name is Justin Spurgeon, and I live with my mother, Brenda Spurgeon. Like many of you, our home was severely damaged by the unprecedented storms that tore through the Globe-Miami area late last year—storms that brought devastating floods and caused unfathomable damage to our community.

While our community is resilient, the damage remains a daily reality for us. During the peak of the storms, we suffered several ceiling cave-ins and significant water encroachment into our home, ruining our belongings and furniture.

We have spent the last few months cleaning up, replacing what we lost, and putting temporary fixes on our roof. However, we are watching the news and the weather closely. The predictions of the oncoming, historic "Super El Niño" season have left us terrified. We know our current temporary patches simply will not survive the intense storms that are coming.

Our Rental Situation
We rent our home, but our landlord lacks the funds necessary to cover the extensive repairs needed to fix the existing damage and safeguard the structure. To protect our household, we have signed a legal agreement with our landlord that officially authorizes us to launch this GoFundMe and oversee the repair work directly.

How the Funds Will Be Used:

Primary Priority (The Roof):
Our absolute first priority is funding a permanent fix for the roof to ensure we are completely secure before the weather shifts. We are starting with an initial goal of $12,000 based on standard replacement costs, but the first $1,500 will go toward immediate, professional heavy-duty tarping and a formal assessment. Once a roofer gives us a final written estimate, we will adjust our overall goal to the exact cost of the roof.

Secondary Priority (Interior Repair Overflow):
If we are fortunate enough to raise additional funds beyond the cost of the roof—or if any overflow funds remain—they will go directly toward repairing the secondary, less pressing damage inside the home caused by the water encroachment. This includes restoring the water-damaged floors, repairing the walls from the ceiling cave-ins, and making the interior living space fully safe again.

We are incredibly grateful for any financial help you can offer to keep my mother and me safe and dry. We know times are tough for everyone right now. If you cannot donate, we would appreciate it just as much if you could share this page with your friends, family, and local Arizona community groups.

Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
