Help Mend Ava’s Special Heart

Ava Jade Waldo, a sweet little girl with a big heart, was born on January 14, 2007 with a congenital heart defect known as aortic valve stenosis.
The daughter of Brian and Haley (Yunker) Waldo, and the big sister to three adoring siblings, Ava brings joy to all around her.
She loves water, animals and her grandpa’s river cabin. She enjoys crocheting, reading, Minecraft, Legos, art, singing, and anything outdoors. A little trooper, she enjoys helping to care for her little sister Emma and her baby brothers Bennet and Thomas. Ava has attended Washburn Elementary, and is currently a 4th grader at Grimsrud Elementary.
Brian and Haley work hard as a team to support their four young children, with Brian working at Gerdau Ameristeel and Haley caring for the kids at home. But, like with most young families, times are tight.
And, on Monday, March 6th, their world was turned upside down when the news broke that sweet Ava would have to undergo open heart surgery for aortic valve replacement.
Set at Mayo Clinic on May 5th, the surgery will be a life changing event for Ava and a traumatic and highly emotional time for her young family. She will have to be hospitalized for one week and has a long and expensive road of recovery ahead of her.
Please share to help lessen the family's financial burden of medical costs, lost wages, travel and lodging expenses. Amidst the worry of Ava’s care, we hope they won't have to worry about the money.
All money raised will be given to help their young family face the bills that come with Ava’s surgery as well as all the costs that come from the hospital stay, rehabilitation, and follow-ups.
